Developing Mountain Biking in Scotland (DMBinS) and the members of the Scottish MTB Consortium are inviting riders, clubs, trail associations, and community organisations to take part in a new series of workshops designed to help shape the Strategy for Scottish Mountain Biking, 2026–2036.

These in-person sessions will give the mountain bike community across Scotland the opportunity to share their experiences, priorities, and ideas on how to grow a sustainable, inclusive, and world-class future for Scottish mountain biking.

The workshops will be informal, open, and collaborative — bringing together riders and representatives from local clubs, businesses, and trail associations to explore what’s working well, where the gaps are, and what collective action is needed over the next decade.

  • Dumfries & Galloway (Dalbeattie) – Dalbeattie Town Hall, Monday 24th November 2025 – Register Now

Each session will include short presentations on the aims and emerging themes of the new strategy, followed by breakout discussions where participants can contribute their thoughts on key areas such as:

  • Trail access, sustainability, and maintenance
  • Club development and volunteer support
  • Events, participation, and health benefits
  • Local economies, tourism, and the environment

Colin Slater, Independent Chair of the Scottish MTB Consortium, said:

“The new strategy for Scottish mountain biking will build on Scotland’s international reputation and set out a clear, shared vision for the next ten years.

These workshops are about listening to the people who make mountain biking what it is — from riders and volunteers to clubs, trail associations, and community groups. Your experiences and ideas will help shape a strategy that truly reflects Scotland’s vibrant mountain bike community.”
