Scottish MTB Club Of The Year 2025

This award recognises a mountain bike club in Scotland that has demonstrated exceptional commitment, community spirit, and positive impact on riders, trails, and the wider MTB scene. Nominations will be judged on:

  1. Community & Inclusivity

    • Encourages participation across all ages, abilities, and backgrounds.

    • Demonstrates inclusivity, diversity, and support for new riders.

  2. Contribution to MTB Development

    • Delivers high-quality activities, coaching, or events that grow the sport.

    • Provides progression pathways for riders (recreational, competitive, youth, etc.).

  3. Trail Stewardship & Advocacy

    • Contributes to trail building, maintenance, or advocacy.

    • Works positively with landowners, communities, or partner organisations.

  4. Innovation & Creativity

    • Shows originality in how it engages members or supports the local MTB scene.

    • Adapts creatively to challenges and opportunities.

  5. Impact & Legacy

    • Demonstrates measurable positive impact (membership growth, community projects, partnerships).

    • Strengthens Scotland’s reputation as a global leader in mountain biking.

It's been an incredibly challenging few years for event organisers, and we want this award to celebrate the amazing events that have been taking place across Scotland this year.

This award celebrates a mountain bike event in Scotland that has delivered exceptional organisation, community impact, and rider experience. Nominations will be judged on:

  1. Event Quality & Organisation
  • Well-planned, safe, and professionally delivered.
  • Positive rider experience from entry to finish line.
Community Engagement
  • Involves and benefits the local community.
  • Welcomes riders of all levels, ages, and backgrounds.
Innovation & Creativity
  • Offers unique features, formats, or approaches that stand out.
  • Adapts and innovates to challenges or opportunities.
Sustainability & Responsibility
  • Considers environmental impact, responsible land use, and trail care.
  • Demonstrates good relationships with landowners, partners, and stakeholders.
Impact on Scottish MTB
  • Raises the profile of mountain biking in Scotland.
  • Attracts new riders, media attention, or tourism benefits.
  • Leaves a lasting legacy for participants, communities, or trails.

Scottish MTB Ambassador of the Sport 2025

To recognise an individual who has made an outstanding contribution to Scottish mountain biking, inspiring others, supporting communities, and representing the sport in a positive and impactful way.

Criteria:

  • Inspiration & Leadership — Has inspired others to take part in mountain biking, through leadership, visibility, or role-modelling.
  • Contribution to the Sport — Demonstrates sustained commitment to the growth and development of mountain biking in Scotland (e.g. advocacy, coaching, volunteering, event support, trail development, or community building).
  • Positive Influence — Actively promotes inclusivity, diversity, and responsible riding within the MTB community.
  • Ambassadorship — Represents Scottish mountain biking positively at local, national, or international levels.
  • Impact — Evidence of measurable impact on riders, communities, or the wider sport.

Scottish MTB Young Ambassador of the Sport 2025

To celebrate a young rider (aged under 18) who is showing exceptional commitment to the sport, inspiring peers, and demonstrating leadership qualities both on and off the bike.

Criteria:

  • Age — Under 18 at the time of nomination.
  • Passion & Dedication — Shows enthusiasm and consistent involvement in mountain biking, whether through riding, racing, volunteering, or community action.
  • Peer Inspiration — Encourages, motivates, or supports other young people to get involved in the sport.
  • Positive Role Model — Demonstrates sportsmanship, inclusivity, and responsibility on and off the bike.
  • Future Potential — Shows signs of developing into a long-term ambassador for Scottish mountain biking.
