The Scottish Mountain Bike Gathering 2025

Since 2020, the Scottish MTB Gathering has successfully brought together the mountain bike community, industry, land managers/owners, trails associations, destinations, and the agencies that support mountain biking in Scotland. It provides a not to be missed opportunity to discuss its future, including how we make mountain biking as sustainable and diverse as possible, all while connecting, learning, sharing, and having good times together.

The 2025 Gathering will be held over two days, Thursday 30th & Friday 31st October, and we are delighted to be again back at Comrie Croft. The hotly anticipated Scottish MTB Awards will be held on the Thursday evening.

This year attendees will access to a new type of programme designed to provide the most content and allow attendees to get the very best out of the event. Delegates will be able to attend keynote talks, flash talks, choose from specific workshops, network, explore exhibitions, take part in practical outdoor sessions and obviously there will be plenty of opportunities for awesome riding and much more.

Opening with an opportunity to join in the Croft staple, Rise and Grind! Ride to Standing Stone Hill for brew and a blether, the perfect way to start the day. Before heading back to the Croft to start the day with a fresh head.

Day One of the Gathering sets the scene with big-picture updates, inspiring talks, launch of new trail management guidance and hands-on workshops giving everyone in the Scottish MTB community a chance to contribute to the future of our sport and trail network.

The Scottish Mountain Bike Awards will be held at the end of this first day and will be a celebration of Scottish mountain biking. Its a 'not to be missed' opportunity to showcase all that is awesome about our industry, the people and the sport. Delicious locally produced food, beverages and sweet tunes will end day one of The Gathering.

Day Two will set the scene for the day by blowing away any cobwebs from the Scottish Mountain Bike Awards the previous evening with an early morning ride to a stunning swim spot.

Delegates will then be able to choose from the following practical, outdoor sessions, rotating through the various workshops to get the most out of the day.

• Practical Session 1 – Pick Dig Ride with Trash Free Trail - Join Trash Free Trails, Comrie Croft, and DMBinS for a combined workshop and dig session introducing the Pick, Dig, Ride (PDR) concept.
• Practical Session 2 – Levelling Up Leadership: Join a supported ride with Cycle Wild Scotland to explore the skills and confidence needed for Level 3 MTB leadership.
• Practical Session 3 – Pump Track Racing: Learn how to run a pump track race, then put your skills into action by helping deliver the real event at 3pm!
• Practical Session 4 - Explore the New MTB Gravity Coaching Framework. Led by the only Scotland-based Coach Educator Tutor for MTB Gravity, this practical and engaging workshop will give you a hands-on introduction to the new MTB Coaching Framework.

Round off the Gathering with some fast, fun action on the brand-new Comrie Croft Pump Track.

Spaces will be limited and will open for sign-up at the start of the day. The race will be organised and run by participants from the ‘Guide to Pump Track Racing’ workshop, putting new skills straight into action. Whether you’re lining up at the start gate or shouting from the side-lines, this promises to be a high-energy, light-hearted finale to the event. Expect speed, style, and plenty of heckling!
