Description

Stow Pump Track is a purpose-built asphalt circuit located in Station Road, Stow, in the Scottish Borders (TD1 2SH). Delivered by Stow Community Trust with funding from Sportscotland, EDF Renewables, Scottish Borders Council and local volunteers, the 130 m all‑weather track opened in May 2025. Featuring smooth rollers, flowing straights, and 180° berms in a “C”‑shaped layout, it offers a fun and accessible environment for riders of all ages.

  • Opening hours: Always open (24/7) as a public track; no floodlighting installed—best used in daylight
  • Cost: Free to use; no booking required
  • Access: Located on Station Road, Stow TD1 2SH—street parking available; easy walking access from village center
  • Surface: Smooth asphalt, engineered base; soft wheels recommended for scooters/skateboards to maximize flow
  • Beginner-friendly: Designed for riders of all skill levels—rollers and gentle berms make it ideal for learners and children
  • Equipment: Helmets strongly recommended; protective pads encouraged for kids and novice riders
  • Notes: Community-led project managed by Stow Community Trust. The facility has quickly become a hub for local coaching, school rides, and family cycling. Conditions are generally excellent, but as there is no lighting, visibility decreases early in evening. Check the Facebook page for timing of community sessions or temporary closures.
