Ceilidh Chaos - Inspiring Women into MTB Leadership

Too often, women underestimate their own abilities. With women currently making up only around 30% of mountain bike leaders, Ceilidh Chaos shines a light on the need for change and the opportunity for growth. Check our our new film and if you are inspired -apply for one of our Rider2Leader courses coming this autumn!

What starts as a simple ride to a ceilidh quickly turns into an adventure.

Watch as three friends set out on their bikes with excitement and good intentions, but along the way, they face mechanical breakdowns and the kind of challenges that test both skill and confidence. Through problem-solving, teamwork, and determination, they push through every obstacle the trail throws at them, but do they make it to the Ceilidh on time?

This film is about more than just riding, it’s about redefining what we believe we’re capable of.

Too often, women underestimate their own abilities. With women currently making up only around 30% of mountain bike leaders, Ceilidh Chaos shines a light on the need for change and the opportunity for growth. It’s a call to step forward, build confidence, and consider taking that next step, whether that’s a mountain bike leadership course or joining a Rider 2 Leader (R2L) course, if you need that boost of confidence.

If you’ve ever thought, “I’m not ready” or “that’s not for me,” this film is here to challenge that.

You are more capable than you think.

This film project was proudly funded by the Scottish Cycling Foundation and the Scottish MTB Health Fund, a fund dedicated to improving inclusivity, encouraging more women and girls into mountain biking, and supporting mental wellbeing through the sport.

The film was made by Fresh Cuts graduate Ben Davies with a little help from Fresh Cuts graduate Ross La Trobe
