Trail Therapy Taster Sessions

Trail Therapy Taster days – want to know more, volunteer your time to support our small team of Practitioners or are you looking into becoming a Practitioner or Hub for Trail Therapy activity yourself? If so, please read on!

MTB TT NHS Lanarkshire 01 Health Pop Up

In this the first of our new programme of activities, we would like to offer the opportunity for those of you who are looking to support Trail Therapy within your community or group, the chance to learn more and experience a taster of what Trail Therapy is before embarking on formal training, shadowing and securing funding to get activity in your area going.

Trail Therapy is a unique programme that uses mountain biking alongside mindfulness techniques to support folk experiencing periods of mental ill health. The amazing combination of physical exercise, being out in nature, authentic risk and community has been independently evaluated, is embedded within an NHS hospital, and is now gathering international interest.

The sustainability of Trail Therapy is hugely important to us, and we alone can’t meet the demand, or source enough funding to meet the demand. However by supporting others to deliver Trail Therapy we know that we can reach more folk through community led engagement, tailored to the needs of specific areas or groups of people led by those who are embedded in that community or region.

We already have a Hub in the Cairngorms, led by the wonderful Sarah of Cairngorm Confidence Outdoors, a Hub at Comrie Croft with the amazing Emily and the Socialtrack team at Wishaw are our latest Hub.

We are offering two taster sessions this year, although we may be able to offer further sessions if there is demand. These sessions are partly funded and cost just £25-£35 per person.

Expect to have opportunity to discover more about the programme and how you can start up a Trail Therapy Hub, there will be a rideout/taster session and participants will have the opportunity to formulate an action plan, should you want to take this forward.

The 2 dates are:

Saturday 27th April at Glentress, Scottish Borders (£25 per person)

Wednesday 4th September in Deuchny, Perthshire (£35 per person)

If you are interested, send us an expression of interest using the button below, and we will get back to you.

Please note that places are limited.
