Guide to creating pump tracks and purpose built trails
We worked with sportscotland, and Forestry and Land Scotland (FLS) to develop a set of resources to help create sustainable trails and pump tracks across Scotland.
We worked with sportscotland, and Forestry and Land Scotland (FLS) to develop a set of resources to help community groups, clubs, businesses, Local Authorities, and third sector organisations create sustainable trails and pump tracks across Scotland.
The project development guide outlines the key stages and steps required to progress through a facility build project. Each of the key stages has a range of actions, case studies, downloadable templates, and associated resources which we hope will support groups to deliver high-quality projects.
The design datasheets are easily digestable guides to all the different types of mountain bike trails and skills areas (including pump tracks and jump lines). By using images the datasheets help those not acquainted with MTB terminology understand the difference between each facility type. The datasheets also outline who the intended user of the trail/facility will be, the area/space required and indicative costs to build.
They are a useful resource to send/print to take to community consultations or meetings with stakeholders who are not mountain bikers.
