DMBinS, Scottish Cycling and British Cycling have joined forces to create a new generation of off-road mountain bike leadership awards, designed specifically for the needs of Scotland’s mountain bike community.

Our Off-Road Leader Awards are practical, engaging and delivered by highly experienced tutors in some of the most inspiring outdoor venues in Scotland. From wild trails and rolling glens to rugged hills and remote landscapes, you’ll learn in the environments where these skills truly matter.

Through hands-on training and expert guidance, you’ll develop the leadership, safety and technical skills needed to confidently lead others — while improving your own riding, judgement and decision-making on the trail.

Our progressive awards are designed for a variety of terrain and riding environments — from local gravel tracks and forest trails to technical mountain routes and remote landscapes. Choose the course, or combination of courses, that matches the type of rides you want to lead.

Whether you’re volunteering, working in the outdoor sector, aiming to become a professional guide, or simply building new skills, there’s an award to support your journey.

Hit links below to find out more about the courses available, including dates and providers.

Think of the awards like a menu — mix and match to build your own bespoke guiding pathway.

Take the next step in your mountain bike leadership journey. Explore the courses and find the award that’s right for you.
