This exciting free workshop is being held in Newcastleton will aim to encourage longer stays, improve rider experiences, and increase the profitability that is presented by the continued growth of mountain biking in the area.

The workshop will bring local accommodation, cafe, and restaurant businesses together with event organisers and local bike businesses to discuss and learn about:

  • the potential for exciting trail and wider infrastructure developments,
  • potential integration with and opportunities for businesses to benefit from the UCI Cycling World Championships 2023.
  • create networking opportunities, encourage partnerships, and collaborative business products with accommodation, guiding, coaching, and retail offerings.

It will showcase the colourful and thriving mountain biking events coming to the area this year and it will mark the final opportunity for accommodation providers to access our 'Secure Bike Storage' grant opportunity and support package specifically for accommodation businesses.

The events are hosted by Developing Mountain Biking in Scotland (DMBinS) and are funded by UK Government through the UK Community Renewal Fund.

We will be working with partners including South of Scotland Enterprise, Scottish Borders Council, Forestry and Land Scotland, Rock UK, and Newcastleton & District Community Trust alongside local businesses to deliver the workshops.

We will be asking all businesses to give a short update on their services, and a short speed pitch, at the event - if you are not comfortable providing this please let us know in advance.
