Storm Arwen Trail Update

As the gargantuan clear-up effort gets underway by Forestry and Land Scotland and land managers across Scotland following the devastation caused by Storm Arwen, we will endeavor to provide the mountain bike community with information as to what singletrack/trail experiences are open across the country.

Storm damage

Important information

Trail/Singletrack riding in many areas across Scotland at the moment continues to be exceptionally fragile. We are attempting to keep this page as up-to-date as possible to ensure that riders can make the best choices and establish where they can ride safely.

Please remember that this is an exceptional set of circumstances, in many areas there continues to be a severe danger to life in the forests, with trees precariously balanced and continuing to fall, with or without present wind. There are also dangers with exposed electricity cables and many other issues.

Land managers are operating a triage system to clear primary access routes and will continue to provide updates, which we will cascade.

In some areas, forest roads will be cleared and opened for gravel/xc riding however the trails will remain closed. This detail will be noted in the information below. We highly recommend clicking through to the 'more info here' links provided below for the most up to date information on each riding location.

We are asking that riders adhere to any trails/forests closed signage and keep checking here and on trail managers websites for updates.

If you are planning to go further afield to ride and will be staying over, please consider booking through our Ride Guide, where due to our collaboration with EXPEDIA, 5% of the cost of your booking will go directly back to maintaining the trails in that area.
