Adventure in Aberdeenshire
As well as the awesome riding In Aberdeenshire (check out our ride guide) there is an abundance of other activities to help you make the most of your visit. Check out a few of our favourites below.
SnowSports
Aberdeenshire has 2 awesome ski centres to experience skiing and snowboarding to suit all abilities.
The Lecht 2090, found at 2090 feet above sea level has 12 lifts and all equipment and clothing can be hired on the day so there’s no excuse not to visit!
Glenshee has the UK’s largest lift system home to 22 lifts and its 36 runs extend over three valleys and four mountains. The centre also has its own snowsport school, making it suitable for beginners through to advanced skiers/snowboarders.
WaterSports
Rivers and lochs are central to Aberdeenshire's unique attraction, Aberdeen is one of the few UK cities with a beach and the regions coastline has been described as “one of the world’s outstanding coastlines” by National Geographic - its no wonder then that Watersports are well represented in the region.
Road Cycling
The stunning landscape that we enjoy so much for mountain biking also lends itself as a stunning backdrop to road cycling in Aberdeenshire. With a mix of spectacular undulating routes and some searing climbs up to our ski centres it provides unlimited opportunity for exploration on skinny wheels. Featured in both the 2021 and 2022 Tour of Britain route the region is one of Britain's current hot locations.
